About Me: Part 3, American

I am an American. I love my country. I like my country’s confusing, dark, and beautiful history. I thank God that I could be so fortunate to be born in this country. I am lucky. I am privileged. I could never be who I am, lived the life I have lived and developed the way I have had I been born in any other country on this planet. I believe that with all of my heart. The part I love most about America is that we question everything, and continue to evolve. Many places want the freedom to question, but can’t. Other places are satisfied with the status quo. Some places yearn to evolve, but do not have the resources to do so. Finally, some countries are evolving, but their people cannot take part in all of those decisions. In America, we can collectively question anything we’d like, and we can participate in our country’s progress and evolution. That is a beautiful gift we all share.
